vineyard

In the spring of 2022 we planted 12,500 vines.  Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Seyval and Ortega - two red wine grapes and two white wine grapes.

With a changing climate, and the rising popularity of British wines, we recognised we had a field perfect for growing grapes; a south facing slope, with a stream at the base. Our local region is becoming known for its wine production and, since we planted our vines, others in our village of Llanvetherine have joined in, there are now a number of small scale vineyards being planted.

In keeping with our wider farming ethos, we are using low intervention principles to manage the vineyard, taking inspiration from biodynamic viticulture. We hope our harmony with nature will bring out the essence of our terroir; the idea that wine should reflect the taste of the land on which it's grown. Mimicking our use of natural processes in the growing, we will continue that ethos through to the wine making. We are looking to produce natural wines, meaning wines fermented using the yeasts already present on the grapes.

We should have our first bottles available to taste in 2027. â€‹â€‹These will be marketed under the label Dewin Wines.
